The digital images produced by ABCnumérique have well-defined characteristics and according to BANQ standards, which vary according to the desired use of the files: a colorimetric mode (24-bit Adobe RGB 1998 or 8-bit Greygamma 2.2 gray level), a resolution of 300 dpi to 9400 dpi depending on document sizes); an archiving format: uncompressed single-page TIFF and a format of diffusion PDF.

In addition, your documents may benefit from specific processing to integrate metadata useful for searching and identifying the document: image referenced by its dimension and its sheet number; character recognition processing (OCR); constitution of metadata (cataloging and indexing).

During the basic digitization of the films, we optimize the video signal if possible. Once digitized (post-processing), we can make more advanced corrections on the video, upon request. For example, we are currently proposing the application of color correction, exposure and contrast optimization to the final image.

Cost for digitizing video and audio cassettes

The cost for digitizing video and audio tapes is 50$ per tape. We will not ask you for anything if the tape is blank!

Whether you have a single coil or that you have several thousand, we can scan all your microfilm and microfiche to digital images of high quality, very effectively and at reasonable prices. Microfilm and microfiche digitization is performed by our technicians who will use good judgment and visual acuity. In order to obtain a very good reproduction quality, it is checked throughout the scanning process.

We use the latest generation of microform scanners to scan microfilm (16mm and 35mm reels) and microfiche (standard 4"x6" index cards, large newspaper images, small images or mixtures of sizes).

When scanning microfilm and microfiche, our team:

• Scans and edits digital images respecting the order in which microfilm and microfiche appear;
• Delivers all the files on the microfilm and microfiche in a single folder. This includes notices, human readable title, start, etc.;
• Straighten, segment (one page) and frame digital images;
• Performs simple or specific indexing;
• Produces Tiff, PDF or Jpeg files: resolution from 200 dpi depending on the reduction factor compared to the original; 8-bit grayscale and Grayscale Gray Gamma 2.2.
